The newest resort on the beach
Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is the newest beach resort in Sabaro's Dubai selection: it welcomed its first guests on 14 March 2025. Its curved building, designed by the architect Shaun Killa, recalls the outline of a superyacht, and it has its own marina for these large pleasure boats. Marsa means "harbour" in Arabic.
It stands on Jumeirah Road in Umm Suqeim 3, between Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab, the latter closed for restoration until around October 2027. Its neighbour Jumeirah Beach Hotel is 27.4 km from Dubai International Airport (DXB). A free buggy shuttle links the resort with the other Jumeirah hotels on the beach.
Compared with its two Jumeirah neighbours, its strengths are dining and private terraces: Jumeirah Al Qasr is about the Arabian setting of the Madinat Jumeirah canals, Jumeirah Beach Hotel about families. It is also the most expensive of the three.
A town of restaurants
The resort announces eleven restaurants and four bars by renowned restaurant designers, plus five restaurants and cafés on the marina promenade. Among them:
- Kinugawa, which has its own adults-only pool, and Kira;
- The Bombay Club by Chef Manav Tuli;
- Madame Li, Mirabelle, Rialto, The Cullinan and Iliana, the suites' pool club;
- 1206, LITT Bar Club, The Fore and Umi Kei;
- Pierre Hermé Paris, for pastries.
With all that on site, you could spend a week without leaving the resort and eat somewhere different every night. For Dubai's other great tables, see the Food and dining theme.
Sea or marina?
Even the entry rooms are large and have a private terrace. They sleep two adults and two children under 12, or three adults. All have a marble bathroom with double vanity, rain shower and bathtub.
- Ocean Deluxe Room (67 m²): a terrace over the Persian Gulf and Burj Al Arab. Our pick for a first stay.
- Marina Terrace Room (79 m²): a larger terrace over the marina and the Dubai skyline. For those who live outdoors.
- Ocean Family Room (77 m²): king bed, pull-down bed and sofa bed, with sea and marina views.
- Ocean Terrace Suite (281 m²): a sweeping curved terrace with 180° views from Burj Al Arab to Burj Khalifa, butler, breakfast, limousine transfers and Iliana Pool Club access.
- Royal Suite (664 m²): a terrace with its own pool, private treatment room and gym, dining for twelve, extendable to five bedrooms.
Four pools and a beach
The resort has four pools: the main Resort Pool, the Iliana Pool Club for suite guests, the Kinugawa adults-only pool and the indoor pool in the spa. It opens onto a private beach. For swimming and beach rules in Dubai, see the guide to Dubai's beaches.
A spa on three floors
Talise at Marsa Al Arab spans three floors, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Burj Al Arab: thirteen treatment suites, a women-only floor, a fitness studio, hammam and steam bath, and a 20-metre indoor pool. See also the Spa and wellness theme.
And the children?
The resort has a kids' club, Jumeirah Circle, and family rooms; its large rooms sleep two children. Families who want a resort built entirely around children, with five pools and a free club, will be happier at Jumeirah Beach Hotel next door. Wild Wadi waterpark, also next door, is listed as temporarily closed as a precautionary measure on the hotel's website (October 2026).
Sabaro's view
Who it suits: couples, honeymooners, food lovers, and travellers who want a brand-new resort.
Strengths: rooms of at least 67 m², all with a terrace; eleven restaurants on site; the adults-only pool; the three-floor spa; a score of 9.1/10 on Booking.com (845 reviews). See also the Honeymoon theme.
Good to know: this is the most expensive resort on this beach; Burj Al Arab next door cannot be visited before it reopens around October 2027; in the UAE, photographing or sharing images of strike damage, debris or the security situation is a criminal offence, see the regional situation guide.
Price: checked in October 2026 for a March 2027 stay, a deluxe marina room cost around €1,700 a night for two, free cancellation until 15 February, taxes and fees included according to the booking site, with a possible per-night tourism fee on top.
