The family resort
Jumeirah Beach Hotel is Sabaro's pick for a family beach holiday in Dubai. The hotel says so itself: it is designed for families, with the Jumeirah Circle kids' club, free to use, pools for all ages and a private beach. Opened in 1997, it is one of Dubai's first modern luxury resorts, and one of its largest: 599 rooms and suites, plus 19 beachfront villas.
It stands on Jumeirah Road in Umm Suqeim 3, facing Burj Al Arab, about 25 minutes (27.4 km) from Dubai International Airport (DXB). Its two neighbours in Sabaro's selection play a different tune: Jumeirah Al Qasr, a palace among the canals of Madinat Jumeirah, and Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, a new 2025 resort aimed at couples and fine dining. A buggy shuttle links Marsa Al Arab with the other Jumeirah hotels on the beach.
What children get
- The Jumeirah Circle kids' club, free for hotel guests.
- Five pools and the private beach.
- Family rooms: the Ocean Family Deluxe (50 m²) has a king bed and two fold-out beds, with a sea view.
- Wild Wadi, the waterpark next door: access is part of Jumeirah hotel offers, but Jumeirah's website lists it as temporarily closed as a precautionary safety measure, in line with official guidance (October 2026). Sabaro checks whether it has reopened before you travel.

Rooms: all facing the sea
Every room in the Ocean range looks out to sea. They sleep up to three adults and one child, or one adult and three children.
For a couple, the Ocean Deluxe Balcony is the only one to mention a sea-facing balcony, so pick it if outdoor space matters to you. A family with two children takes the Ocean Family Deluxe; the One Bedroom Ocean Suite adds a living room, the Pearl Lounge happy hour and the Executive Pool. For larger families, the hotel also has two- and three-bedroom rooms and suites.
Al Bahar villas: the hotel's other side
Beside the main building, the 19 Al Bahar villas form a small hotel within the hotel: a private terrace and plunge pool facing Burj Al Arab, a butler, airport transfers and entry to the Al Bahar Club. It is the option for couples who want villa privacy with the resort's facilities on hand.
Where to eat
The hotel lists nine restaurants and bars: Nuska Beach, Dhow & Anchor, Aila's Table, Pearl Lounge, the Pool Bar, Bahia Bar, Creations Cakery, Fika and Floor 24, the last of these temporarily closed. Lucia's, on the same site, is run independently. For a change of scene, the Souk Madinat Jumeirah and the restaurants of the neighbouring hotels are a few minutes away.
Spa and fitness
Guests have access to Talise Spa and J Club, Jumeirah's fitness club. Club rooms add access to the Club Lounge.
Sabaro's view
Who it suits: families with children of all ages, multi-generation groups, and couples who choose an Al Bahar villa.
Strengths: the free kids' club; five pools and the beach; 50 m² sea-facing rooms; a score of 8.9/10 on Booking.com (3,512 reviews); a gentler price than its two Jumeirah neighbours.
Good to know: a very large, lively hotel; one restaurant temporarily closed; Wild Wadi closed when we checked; Burj Al Arab, closed for restoration until around October 2027, cannot be visited. In the UAE, photographing or sharing images of strike damage, debris or the security situation is a criminal offence; for everything else, see the regional situation guide.
Price: checked in October 2026 for a March 2027 stay, the Ocean Deluxe cost around €690 a night for two, room only, free cancellation, taxes and fees included according to the hotel's website, with a possible per-night tourism fee on top.
