Exedra Hotel Cappadocia

In ancient Rome, an exedra was where philosophers gathered to talk. The hotel of that name occupies a group of stone houses and caves right next to the square in Ortahisar, the village huddled around its "middle castle". The architect Şekibe Aslan's restorations kept the nooks and alcoves of the stone; the public areas display art objects and antique chests beneath thick arches. The hotel belongs to the Turkish Dorak holding company.

Four room types

Exedra's four categories are all built in Cappadocian stone, and all have a fireplace. They differ in size and in what they add: a jacuzzi in the Suite Room, a private pool in the Pool Suite. For two, the Chapel Room strikes a good balance; the Pool Suite is made for honeymoons.

Pool and spa

This is Exedra's strong point in the village: a heated outdoor infinity pool, facing Mount Erciyes and the fairy chimneys, where you can swim even when snow covers the landscape. The 7 Ritüels spa covers 350 m²: hammam, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and two massage rooms. There is also a gym.

Dining

The hotel has two restaurants, Fresko and Chapel, and a cellar, Mahzen. It also hosts weddings, meetings and birthdays.

Location

Exedra is in Ortahisar, at Kapadokya Caddesi No. 11, a few steps from the square and the rock castle. Nevşehir Airport is 45 km away, Kayseri Airport 75 km. In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, Booking.com offered the Deluxe King Room at about €145 per night for two adults, breakfast included, non-refundable, all taxes included; with free cancellation until 24 May it rose to about €160.
