Jumeirah Muscat Bay is the Muscat resort you choose for the bay: about 200 rooms, suites and villas, opened in 2022 in a sheltered inlet at Bandar Jissah, between the mountains and the sea, only fifteen minutes from the city centre. It is the first luxury resort in Oman from the Jumeirah group, well known in Dubai. With 9.5 out of 10 on Booking.com (1,612 reviews), it has the highest score of all our Muscat hotels.
A bay of its own
Bandar Jissah is a small bay south-east of the capital, at Qantab, next to the Barr Al Jissah complex. The resort spreads out between the mountains and the Gulf of Oman. It is a good balance between a beach resort and the city: the official site gives 15 minutes to the centre and 40 minutes to Muscat International Airport. The hotel arranges airport transfers with 48 hours' notice. For the city, see our Muscat page.
Three pools, three kinds of guest
This is what sets the Jumeirah apart from its neighbours: each kind of guest has a pool.
- The adults-only pool, for couples who want peace.
- The family pool, for swimming with children.
- The children's pool, next to the Kids Club.
The private beach runs along the resort; the beach houses and the villa also have their own Sanctuary beach, reserved for their guests. The reef off nearby Qantab beach is good for diving.
From rooms to beach houses
For a couple, the Ocean Balcony Deluxe Room is worth the extra: the balcony faces the Gulf. A Club version adds access to the Club guests' lounge. The Summerhouses, beach houses with a private plunge pool, marble bathroom and 24-hour butler, and the Sanctuary Ocean Villa, with a garden, pool and jacuzzi, are the choice for big occasions; a private chef and barbecue can be arranged on request. Suites and villas include Club Lounge access.
For a family, the Two Bedroom Family Suite, with two bedrooms, sleeps up to six.
Restaurants
The resort has five restaurants and bars: Anzo, Brezza, Peridot, Tarini and Zuka, the pool restaurant and bar. Jumeirah does not publish detailed menus; Sabaro can request them from the hotel.
Spa and activities
The Talise Spa has 10 treatment rooms. The resort offers yoga, a gym, a Premium Leisure Club and water sports. See also spa and wellness.
Jumeirah or Barr Al Jissah?
The two sites are neighbours. The Jumeirah, with higher guest scores, serves both couples (adults-only pool) and families (Kids Club, family suites). At Barr Al Jissah you choose between two separate hotels: Al Husn, for adults, and the cheaper DoubleTree, for families.
Price
In October 2026, for a two-night stay in March 2027, the cheapest room cost about €420 a night for two adults, breakfast included, taxes and fees included, with any local taxes extra.
Sabaro's view
Best for: couples and families who want a peaceful beach resort close to the city; honeymooners (see honeymoon).
Strengths: the sheltered bay; a pool for every kind of guest; beach houses with a reserved beach; the best guest score of our Muscat hotels.
Worth knowing: the airport is 40 minutes away; little published information on the restaurants; the Summerhouses and villa cost far more than the rooms.
