The Residence & Spa is the quietest part of One&Only Royal Mirage: a wing of around fifty rooms and suites for adults only, with its own restaurant, library lounge and pool, set among the resort's gardens. The estate, on Al Sufouh beach facing Palm Jumeirah, covers 65 acres (about 26 hectares) of palm-filled gardens along a kilometre of private beach. Forbes Travel Guide, the American guide that rates hotels after inspection, gives it five stars, its highest rating.

What is open in October 2026

One&Only Royal Mirage had three wings. In October 2026:

  • The Palace has been closed for renovation since 24 April 2026. The official website no longer sells it; British tour operators expect it to reopen in late 2027 or early 2028, with no official date.
  • The Residence & Spa is bookable again on the official website, after a maintenance closure from April to mid-October 2026 that affected the wing's pool and restaurant.
  • Arabian Court, the family wing, remains open and also welcomes day visitors.

Our tip: when booking, ask for written confirmation that The Residence's pool and restaurant will be open on your dates. Since The Palace closed, the official website lists only seven restaurants and bars for the resort.

Who it's for

Couples who want a hotel on a human scale, personal service (a host looks after your stay) and no children, with the beach, gardens and restaurants of a large resort on the same estate. The official website describes The Residence rooms as "reserved for adults"; some tour operators say teenagers from 12 are accepted. If you are travelling with a teenager, check the rule before booking. See also our adults-only page.

Rooms

All rooms at The Residence sleep two adults and look over the Gulf and the gardens. The décor is Arabian-inspired.

For a family, two two-bedroom Beach Villas, with a private garden and pool and direct beach access, complete the wing.

Our tip: the Junior Suite is the best balance, with its living area and large balcony; the Prestige Room is enough for a short stay.

Gardens, beach and activities

The kilometre of beach is shared by the whole resort, with its beach club, DRIFT. There is tennis, padel, volleyball, a putting green, a water sports centre and a 24-hour gym. The gardens are home to an apiary you can visit with a guide, and a birdwatching walk is offered to children. The hotel also arranges hot-air balloon flights over the desert, with a falconry show and breakfast (see our desert page).

To get your bearings between Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, see our Dubai Marina, JBR and Bluewaters page and our Dubai beaches guide.

Where to eat

The Residence has its own restaurant, The Dining Room, and the Library Lounge, both reserved for its guests. Across the rest of the resort, the official website lists:

  • Trèsind: contemporary Indian cuisine;
  • Eauzone: pan-Asian dining among palms and pools, with sea views;
  • The Rotisserie: international all-day dining around an open kitchen;
  • DRIFT Dubai: beach club and Provençal restaurant;
  • Nayara: Levantine cooking in a courtyard, announced as opening soon;
  • Samovar Lounge for tea, and Viva La Goa, a cocktail bar.

The spa

One&Only Spa has an Oriental hammam, beauty treatments, outdoor fitness and a hand and foot studio by podiatrist Bastien Gonzalez. See our spa and wellness page.

Prices

Sabaro does not yet publish a price for The Residence: the only rate we found in October 2026 covered the whole resort without naming the wing. We will quote the exact price for your dates on request.

Practical information

Sabaro's view

Who it's for: couples, honeymooners and travellers who already know Dubai and want to rest.

Strengths: the intimate scale of the wing; 26 hectares of gardens; a kilometre of beach; a restaurant and pool of its own.

Good to know: The Palace is closed until at least late 2027 according to tour operators, and the resort has fewer restaurants than before; the exact minimum age needs confirming; there is no published price for the wing.
