A 231-hectare estate on the Haouz plain
The resort opened in December 2013 as the Royal Palm Marrakech, owned by the Mauritian group New Mauritius Hotels, owner of the Beachcomber hotels. In May 2017 it joined Accor's Fairmont brand, its first address in Africa at the time. The estate covers 231 hectares in an olive grove on the Haouz plain, at kilometre 12 of the Amizmiz road, facing the High Atlas.
The hotel sits at the heart of a wider development, with private residences and a country club around the golf course. The smallest rooms measure 72 m², with an integrated lounge and a marble bathroom floored in bejmat (glazed terracotta brick); suites add a garden or terrace, and the Prince Villa reaches 741 m² with a heatable private pool and a hammam.
The hotel holds the Green Key label, an international eco-label for tourism: photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting for the gardens, waste sorting and a gradual phase-out of single-use plastics.
The Cabell B. Robinson course
The Royal Palm is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by the golf architect Cabell B. Robinson, with the Atlas as a backdrop; it was nominated at the 2025 World Golf Awards for Morocco's best golf course.
Access to the course is reserved for players with a valid licence and a handicap of 28 or better. Beginners start at the Royal Palm Golf Academy: driving range, putting green, private, semi-private or group lessons, and junior lessons. Tee times can be booked online, by email or by phone; carts stay in the garage on rainy days.
At the country club, the Sabra restaurant and the Legends' Bar, with its terrace over the course, welcome players after their round, next to the locker rooms, a fitness area, a yoga studio and a pool.
For a golf stay, the hotel offers two packages, bookable until 19 December 2026: four nights with three green fees (two at the Royal Palm, one at Noria), and seven nights with five green fees (three at the Royal Palm, one at Noria and one at Assoufid). Both include golf transfers and 15% off spa treatments.
A family day
The resort is designed so that everyone finds their own pace.
- The main pool is 100 m long and covers 2,000 m², in front of the main building, facing the golf course and the Atlas, with an area set aside for children. There are also two semi-Olympic pools, one at the fitness centre, for adults only, and one at the country club.
- The kids' club, 500 m², takes children aged 3 to 12 from 9 am to 6 pm local time: painting, pottery, calligraphy, oriental dance, yoga, a playground, a paddling pool and walks to the hotel farm. It has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner. Under-3s go to the free Baby Room, from 10 am to 5 pm, with a parent or nanny; babysitters can be booked 24 hours ahead.
- The Royal Palm Tennis & Padel Academy has four clay tennis courts and two padel courts, with lessons and junior camps in the holidays.
- The spa covers 3,500 m², designed as a riad, with an indoor pool. The hammam ritual is led by a dada (the traditional Moroccan housekeeper): eucalyptus black soap, kessa glove scrub, ghassoul (Atlas clay) mask, rose water and argan oil massage. The spa and gym are for guests aged 18 and over.
In the evening, adults can choose between four restaurants: Capricci for Italian cuisine, L'Olivier by the pool for Mediterranean food, Al Aïn for Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine under its painted ceilings, and Le Bar, with a fireplace and piano, which serves Japanese specialities.
During the school holidays at the end of October and early November, the hotel publishes a programme: brunches with live music, oriental evenings with Gnawa music, workshops at the farm and group classes.
Atlas view or garden level
For a golfer or a couple, an "Atlas View" room or suite looks over the course and the mountains from its terrace or balcony. For a family with young children, a "Garden View" Junior Suite opens straight onto the gardens; the 124 m² Family Suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two terraces. Two Junior Suites and one Prince Villa are adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
Sabaro's view
For whom: golfers, families with children aged 3 to 12, long and quiet stays.
Strengths: the championship course on site; rooms of at least 72 m²; the 100 m pool; the kids' club and its restaurant; the tennis and padel academy.
Good to know: the medina is 12 km away, so every outing is by car; the course requires a licence and a handicap of 28 or better.
Our advice: for a family, combine a room and a connecting suite, or take the Family Suite; for a golfer, the seven-night package adds two nearby courses to the Royal Palm.
