Asude Konak is a house before it is a hotel. An Ottoman official, the town's telegraph director, had it built in 1891 on the corner of Old Telegraph Street and Millet Street, at the foot of Gaziantep citadel. In 2001, three sisters bought the mansion, then close to ruin, and spent long years restoring it before opening a small hotel and table there. The name Asude, like the names of the rooms, recalls the Ottoman mansions.

Five rooms, each with its own decor
The house has only five rooms, each decorated differently. All have a bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, a TV and a free minibar. For the view of the citadel and the Tahtani Mosque, a 650-year-old Seljuk mosque, couples should pick Pürsefa, the junior suite and the largest room, or Kubbealtı, under its ceiling shaped like a boat's hull. Laminur, on the second floor, is the quietest; Bezm-i Alem, at garden level, suits a simple stay with no stairs.
The house decorates the room for a honeymoon or celebration if told in advance.
The house table
The owner comes from an Antep family and loves to cook: the house serves city dishes rarely found in restaurants. In summer, meals are taken in the garden, under the walnut tree, to birdsong; in winter, in the eyvan, facing Tahtani Mosque and the citadel. The house stays open in winter, when melengiç coffee, made from the fruit of the wild pistachio, is drunk by the stove with chestnuts and roasted corn.
Location and services
The house is on Millet Street, in the Türktepe quarter, at the foot of the citadel. Reception is open 24 hours, with luggage storage and room service. Paid private parking is available near the house, and paid transfers from the airport and bus station are offered. Check-in is after noon and check-out before noon, local time. Pets are not allowed.
Price
Google Hotels showed no rate for 1 to 3 June 2027 when we checked in October 2026. The price is therefore on request: Sabaro confirms it with the house for your dates.
