Argos in Cappadocia is the most complete hotel in Uçhisar: a former village of cave houses and stone mansions, restored on the hillside, looking out over Pigeon Valley and, in the distance, Mount Erciyes. It belongs to the Turkish Doğuş group, is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and has been awarded two MICHELIN Keys. People come for the architecture, the food and the view, in every season.

A village rather than a hotel

The 71 rooms and suites are spread over different buildings linked by stairways, lanes and tunnels. Each room has its own style: dressed stone or original cave, furniture mixing old motifs with contemporary lines, rugs woven in the region. The hotel says it plainly: depending on availability, a room may have windows or lie in an inner section without a window, and some have a fireplace. To be sure of light and a view, ask for it when booking.

Rooms from 20 to 135 m²

Moving up the categories adds treats more than basic comfort. Standard and Deluxe rooms are enough for a couple who spend their days out; the Junior Suites, all with a fireplace, are made for a winter stay by the fire. For a honeymoon, take the Jacuzzi Suite; for a pool of your own, kept at 27 to 28 °C, the Cave Splendid Suite, a windowless volcanic-rock cave.

Room service and reception run 24 hours a day. The room table on this page gives the details of each category.

Two restaurants and a cellar

Argos's cooking relies on produce from within 60 km and on the hotel's own garden. Nahita serves Anatolian cuisine, Seki international dishes. The cellar, dug into the rock, hosts tastings and dinners.

Pool and spa

The heated outdoor pool is open all year and overlooks the valley: in winter you can swim facing snow-covered fairy chimneys. The spa, open 8 am to 9 pm local time, offers massages, scrubs with local herbs and Valmont treatments. There is also a gym.

Location

The hotel is in Uçhisar, at Kayabaş Sokak No. 23, below the village's rock castle. Nevşehir Airport (NAV) is about 40 km away, Kayseri Airport (ASR) about 80 km. Göreme and the open-air museum are a few minutes' drive. For the region, see our Cappadocia page.

Prices

In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, the hotel's own website offered the Standard Room at about €610 per night for two adults, breakfast included, with free cancellation until 12 May, all taxes included. The Junior Suite was offered at about €1,010 per night.

Sabaro's view

For whom: couples and families who want the best of Cappadocia without giving up a pool, a spa and serious food; winter travellers, for the heated pool and the fireplaces.

Strengths: the architecture of the restored village; two MICHELIN Keys; the pool open all year; a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 (about 1,400 reviews).

Good to know: some rooms have no window; the large pool suites are enclosed caves. For a more intimate museum hotel, see Museum Hotel; for just eleven suites, Ariana.
