Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Two tournaments, two weeks

Dubai is one of the winter stops on both professional tours, and it is played in two parts:

• the women's event, a WTA 1000, the level just below the Grand Slams on the tour of the WTA (Women's Tennis Association, the body of women's professional tennis), a status it gained in 2023;
• the men's event, an ATP 500, the middle tier of the tour of the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals, the body of men's professional tennis).

The official website gives 14 to 27 February for the 2027 edition but has not yet published how the two weeks are split. In 2026 the women played from 15 to 21 February and the men the following week, until the 28th; on the same pattern, 2027 would see the women from 14 to 20 February and the men from 21 to 27. Sabaro confirms the schedule as soon as it is released.

The men's event dates from 1993, the women's from 2001.

A growing stadium

The centre court at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium is due to gain about 2,500 seats for 2027, a rise of half. Since 2026 a temporary 2,000-seat Court 1 has been added, and the tournament village, with its shaded areas, has been redesigned.

Tickets

Ticketing for 2027 has not opened yet. In 2026 seats ranged from AED 65 to 990, about €16 to €240, with a 20% early-bird discount on the first three days, from AED 52. They were sold on the official website and Ticketmaster, and the outside courts were free with registration.

Getting to the stadium

The stadium is in Al Garhoud, the district next to Dubai International Airport (DXB), on the opposite side of the Creek from Bur Dubai.

• By metro: GGICO station on the red line, a 5-minute walk; or Al Garhoud station, with a free shuttle.
• By car: free park-and-ride for ticket holders, opening one hour before play.
• By taxi: usually under 30 minutes from the airport to a nearby hotel.

Where to stay

The Old Dubai hotels are the closest in the Sabaro selection: Al Seef Heritage Hotel on the Creek, about 7 km from the airport, and XVA Art Hotel in the Al Fahidi quarter. Park Hyatt Dubai, on the Creek next to Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, is closed for renovation and due to reopen in the first quarter of 2027. The area is described on our Old Dubai page.

February 2027: during Ramadan

Ramadan is expected to start around 8 February 2027, according to astronomical forecasts, and to last until 8 or 9 March, so the tournament falls in the middle of the fasting month. Non-Muslim spectators do not fast, but avoid eating, drinking or chewing gum in public during the day outside designated areas. Our Ramadan in Dubai guide and Ramadan 2027 page have the details.

February is mild: the average high is 26.1 °C and the low 16.4 °C. A jacket is enough for evening sessions.
