Six Senses Kaplankaya

Six Senses Kaplankaya is unlike the hotels on the Bodrum peninsula. It sits on a preserved stretch of Aegean coast at Bozbük, in the Milas district, far from the busy bays of Türkbükü and Yalıkavak. The rooms are stepped into the landscape like a Mediterranean village, and every one looks out over the Aegean. The MICHELIN Guide has awarded it one Key.

The hotel opened in 2016 as Canyon Ranch Kaplankaya; Six Senses, an IHG brand, has run it since 2017 and reopened it in 2018 after a renovation. Some comparison sites still list it under its former name.

People come here first of all for wellbeing: this is the hotel in Sabaro's selection most focused on treatments and fitness.

The spa

The spa covers 10,000 m²: a heated indoor pool, hydrothermal areas, hammams, a gym and spinning, yoga and Pilates classes. Its practitioners put together a personalised wellness programme, for a cure of a few days or simply a restful break. See also our spa and wellness page.

Rooms, suites and residences

The hotel has 141 rooms and suites: 75 in the main building and 66 Ridge Terrace Rooms, set apart on the ridge. Rooms in the main building have a sea-view balcony; the Ridge Terrace rooms, set apart, will suit a couple looking for quiet, and some have a private pool. A family will take a Ridge Terrace Family room, with two bedrooms and a rooftop terrace; the largest suites also have their own private pool.

The Six Senses Residences, with three to five bedrooms, have a kitchen, garden and pool; they are booked on request.

Beaches, dining and activities

The hotel has its own private beaches. Several restaurants serve organic Aegean cuisine, with produce from nearby farms. On the water and on land, activities range from water sports to hiking, and trips go to the region's ancient sites.

Location

The hotel is at Bozbük, in the Milas district (Muğla province), north of the Bodrum peninsula. Milas-Bodrum Airport is the closest. Evenings out in Bodrum or Yalıkavak mean a drive; you choose Kaplankaya to stay put. See our Bodrum peninsula page.

The climate is that of the coast: an average high above 32 °C in June at Bodrum, and a sea at around 23 °C in early June and 26 °C in August. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 12 pm, local time.

Price

In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, the cheapest room was offered at €825 for two adults, breakfast included, cancellable until 17 May, all taxes included: about €410 a night. Spa treatments are extra.

Who it suits: travellers wanting a supervised wellness stay, couples looking for peace and quiet, families who like space and uncrowded beaches.

Strengths: a 10,000 m² spa; rooms that all face the sea, some with a private pool; one MICHELIN Key; a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5 (about 1,100 reviews).

Worth knowing: the hotel is isolated, off the peninsula; if you want Bodrum's evenings, a hotel in Türkbükü or Yalıkavak is a better fit.
