Biber Evi, the "pepper house", is the Assos address for anyone who wants to sleep in the village, a short walk from the Temple of Athena. It is a konak, a 200-year-old notable's mansion, restored with a contemporary eye and with respect for its setting. Come for the quiet, the sunset over the sea and a table made with the house's own produce.

A restored mansion

The house was restored in an eco-friendly way, keeping its original structure and adding today's comforts. All the woodwork was made by hand in Kastamonu, in northern Turkey, following the patterns and craftsmanship of the Seljuk and Ottoman periods.

Seven rooms with private entrances

The hotel has seven rooms of 30 to 45 m², all with a private entrance, air conditioning and a private bathroom.

The four konak rooms, with the character of the old house, suit couples looking for charm; the three garden rooms, quieter, suit those who want to be outdoors from the morning.

The house table

The family grows organic vegetables in its gardens and has an olive grove on the Paşaköy plain. The olive oil, harvested and pressed every October, is served at table. Cakes and pastries are homemade, at breakfast and at teatime.

Location

The house is in Behramkale village, above the ancient harbour of Assos, 2 km from the harbour, according to the house, and about 4.5 km from Kadırga beach by road. The Temple of Athena is close by. Edremit airport is about 1 h 30 away, Çanakkale 1 h 15 and Troy about an hour. See our Assos, Troy and the Dardanelles page.

Prices

Price on request: in October 2026, no rate was published for our reference dates of 1 to 3 June 2027. Sabaro passes on the house's offer with your enquiry.
