Warehouse By The Stay

Warehouse By The Stay is the Alaçatı hotel for those who prefer design and a cultural scene to stone houses. The small Turkish group The Stay, which also has hotels in Istanbul, has put 24 rooms into an authentic 1980s warehouse. The MICHELIN Guide, which lists it, sums the place up as a design hotel whose concept is as evident from its architecture as from its name.

A red-brick warehouse

The warehouse has kept what gives it its look: the line of its roof, the red brick, the oversized shop windows. That is what sets it apart from the town's other addresses, almost all of them in former houses. Inside, all the rooms look onto the hotel's gardens, which has earned it the description of an urban resort.

A cultural venue

The warehouse is now used for culture rather than industry. The programme includes:

• concerts and plays;
• film screenings;
• cooking workshops;
• and the hotel keeps an art and architecture library.

It is a livelier address than the town's guesthouses.

The rooms

The MICHELIN Guide counts 24 rooms and suites, decorated in an urban-rustic style. They have an espresso machine, a Smeg minibar and a high-end sound system with a turntable. Details of the categories and sizes are not clearly published: Sabaro passes them on with the hotel's offer.

Pool and beach

The hotel has a pool. A shuttle runs to central Alaçatı and to the private beach club Plage Isolée.

Location
