Edirne Osmanlı Evleri means "the Ottoman houses of Edirne". The hotel occupies two mansions whose foundations were laid about a century ago and whose restoration took four years. They were once home to the families of Albert Safrati and Jack Assa, respected members of the city's community. It is the only Edirne hotel in Sabaro's selection, and the simplest way to spend a night near the Selimiye Mosque in a historic setting.

Twelve rooms, twelve names

Each room bears the name of a town or river in Edirne province. The nine double rooms suit a couple; a party of three should ask for Arda, the only triple, and a family will want one of the two family suites, Edirne or Selimiye.

Each room has its own theme, with careful interior design, antique furniture and warm colours. Private bathrooms, air conditioning and modern communications have been fitted into the original structure.

A house more than a hotel

Edirne Osmanlı Evleri advertises no spa: it is a guesthouse of character, where you come for the atmosphere of the mansions and for the city. The website publishes a menu and a short guide to Edirne, and the hotel offers a loyalty card: one free night in a double room after 15 nights.

Edirne on foot

The hotel is in Kaleiçi, the old town. The Selimiye Mosque, the architect Sinan's masterpiece, reopened for worship in February 2026 after restoration, the Old Mosque and the Üç Şerefeli Mosque are within walking distance. The Complex of Bayezid II and the bridges over the Tunca call for a short drive. In early July the Kırkpınar oil-wrestling tournament fills the city.

Location

Arif Paşa Caddesi No. 54, Kaleiçi, in central Edirne. Edirne has no airport: Sultanahmet in Istanbul is 2 h 30 by road, and Istanbul Airport 2 h 40, excluding traffic. For the city, see our Edirne page.

Prices

No price was shown online in October 2026 for a stay from 1 to 3 June 2027: the hotel asked guests to contact it directly. Sabaro sends you the price on request, for your dates.

Sabaro's view

For whom: travellers spending a night in Edirne for the Selimiye; families, for the two suites; lovers of old houses.

Strengths: two restored century-old mansions; the location in the old town; a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5 (404 reviews).

Good to know: it is a guesthouse, not a luxury hotel; the hotel publishes no online prices for 2027. Edirne combines with Bursa, the other former Ottoman capital, before or after Istanbul.
