# How Sabaro chooses and presents its information

How hotels are chosen and ordered, where prices, ratings, practical information and photos come from, and what role artificial intelligence plays.

## Hotels

Every hotel shown has been selected by Sabaro, which says who it suits, its strengths and its limits. No hotel pays to appear on the website, and Sabaro receives no commission: the website sells nothing.

In lists, hotels are shown by region, then in alphabetical order. No placement is sold or promoted in exchange for payment.

## Prices

Prices are recorded by hand on public websites (the hotel's official website, Booking.com, Google Hotels, activity websites), including all taxes. Each price states its date, the stay it was recorded for and its source. A price that is too old or recorded without taxes is not shown.

These prices are indicative: they help gauge a budget and may have changed.

## Guest ratings

Ratings shown come from third-party websites, always named. Sabaro does not collect reviews yet and does not verify those of these websites: their authenticity depends on the rules of the website that publishes them.

## Practical information

Entry requirements and safety advice come from foreign ministries, places to see from tourist boards and official websites, and climate data from published series such as the World Meteorological Organization normals. Each source is cited and dated on the page. In case of discrepancy, the official source prevails.

## Photos

Destination photos are free-licence photos, chosen one by one, with their author's name and licence. Hotel pages also use free-licence photos, where some exist that show no façade or interior design still protected by copyright; a hotel's official photos are only published with its permission.

## Maps

The maps on hotel pages are drawn by Sabaro from OpenStreetMap, the collaborative world map. Walking times and driving distances are calculated on the same data, along the shortest route, without accounting for traffic.

## The role of artificial intelligence

Texts are written with the help of artificial intelligence, from the sources cited on each page. Trip requests and questions sent through the website are read by a person, who replies by email.

The "Read next" links at the bottom of pages are chosen automatically among nearby pages (same region, destination or interest).
