# Dubai family trip in 7 days

A week in Dubai built around children: six nights at Atlantis The Palm, with unlimited access to the Aquaventure World waterpark and the Lost World Aquarium, a day at Legoland Dubai, an evening at Global Village, a desert safari and Burj Khalifa. From October to April, when it is pleasant outdoors.

## The idea: one hotel and a few chosen outings

With children, changing hotels costs half a day. So this trip keeps a single address for six nights, Atlantis The Palm, at the tip of the Palm Jumeirah crescent, and plans four outings around it, no more than one a day, leaving the other days for the waterpark and the beach. The longest journeys, to Legoland and the desert, are made with a driver.

The season runs from October to April. From November to March, average highs stay between 24 and 31 °C and the sea between 22 and 28 °C, according to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) climate normals and sea temperature records. Global Village, open from 14 October 2026 to May 2027, and many outdoor activities only run in the cooler season.

## The hotel: Atlantis The Palm

Atlantis is a family resort with more than 1,500 rooms. Its big draw for families: your stay includes **unlimited access to Aquaventure World**, billed as the world's largest waterpark, with more than 105 slides, rides and experiences spread over three towers, Neptune, Poseidon and Trident, plus a zone for little ones, Splashers; and to the **Lost World Aquarium**, the former Lost Chambers, redesigned into 14 rooms with more than 65,000 marine animals. The hotel also has a kids' club, the Atlantis Explorers Club with ten play areas, a beach and pools reserved for guests, and 34 restaurants. Dolphin encounters at Dolphin Bay are extra.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is 40 to 60 minutes away by taxi. Rates were found from about €595 a night for a double room in March 2027, with any per-night tourism tax on top; family rooms and children's rates are available from Sabaro on request.

### Aquaventure, as often as you like

Unlimited access changes everything: go in the morning, head back to the room in the hottest hours, then go again. The big slides have minimum heights that vary from ride to ride; the youngest have Splashers. Keep the Lost World Aquarium for a quieter afternoon.

### Legoland Dubai

Legoland Dubai is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, a group of theme parks beside Sheikh Zayed Road near Jebel Ali, between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The park has more than 40 rides and attractions in six zones: Factory, LEGO City, Imagination, Kingdoms, Adventure and Miniland. The neighbouring Legoland Water Park has more than 20 slides. The two-park ticket listed in this trip, Legoland plus its waterpark or Motiongate, was found from about €86 per person. Legoland opens from 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays and until 7 pm at weekends, local time; the waterpark is closed on Wednesdays. The official website mentions rides under maintenance, and Sabaro checks before booking.

### The desert

The evening safari leaves the hotel in the afternoon: about 45 minutes of 4x4 driving over the dunes, sandboarding, a short camel ride, then a barbecue dinner with a show in a desert camp, 7 hours in all. It was found from about €58 per person. Dune driving is bumpy: operators set their own age limits, and a 4x4 with a recognised operator is safer than dune buggies or quad bikes, which cause serious accidents.

### Burj Khalifa and the fountain

The At the Top observatory on levels 124 and 125 was found from about €45 per person; book a late-afternoon slot, then watch the free Dubai Fountain show below, every 30 minutes from 6 pm. Dubai Mall and its aquarium are at the foot of the tower.

### Global Village

Global Village in Dubailand opens every evening at 4 pm: 29 pavilions from around the world, food stalls, shows and a funfair, the Carnaval, whose rides are paid in points. Entry was found from about €7 and is free for under-3s. Tuesdays are reserved for families, couples and women. Our [Global Village](/en/events/global-village/) page gives the opening hours.

## Good to know with children

- **Pace**: outings in the morning or late afternoon, room or shaded pool between noon and 4 pm, even in winter.
- **Distances**: Legoland and Global Village are inland, far from the Palm; journeys take tens of minutes.
- **The beach**: rip currents can form; swim only on supervised beaches, never under a red flag.
- **Rules**: swimwear only at the beach and pool, modest clothing in public places.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Aquaventure access included?

Yes: a stay at Atlantis The Palm includes unlimited access to Aquaventure World and the Lost World Aquarium for the whole stay.

### What ages is this trip for?

Roughly 4 to 14: Legoland suits younger children best, and Aquaventure has zones for every age, with minimum heights on the big slides.

### Do we need a car?

No. The Palm is served by the tram and the monorail, and the longer outings, Legoland and the desert, are made with a driver or on excursions that pick you up at the hotel.

### Can we do this trip in summer?

You can, but Global Village is closed from May to October and highs exceed 39 °C from June to September, so Sabaro recommends October to April.

### Is the desert suitable for young children?

The dinner, camel ride and show, yes; the 4x4 dune drive is bumpier. Sabaro checks the operator's age limits when booking.
