Yonca Lodge is the place for a quiet stay by the sea near Fethiye, with no large resort around it. Twenty rooms are scattered through a vast orchard facing the islands and coves of the Gulf of Fethiye. The garden runs down to a sandy beach for guests only, where loungers and cabanas shelter under mimosa and mulberry trees.

## An orchard by the water

The hotel describes itself as a small "ecological" hotel: energy and water saving, recycling, natural products for guests. The garden invites you to slow down: a swing by the stream, tables under hundred-year-old trees, hammocks where you hear the kingfishers. An outdoor pool runs alongside the sea for those who prefer fresh water.

Children under 12 are not accepted: the hotel is aimed at couples and even offers a honeymoon package. Pets are welcome.

## Four room categories

The 20 rooms are spread around different corners of the orchard, and location is what sets them apart. Closest to the pool and the sea, the Superior Rooms, just behind the beach, have a jacuzzi on the terrace and a fireplace; a couple wanting seclusion should take a Penthouse Room, under the roof, with a private terrace. Families will like the Duplex Standard Rooms, with a ground-floor living room and the bedroom on a mezzanine.

Every room has the house herbal teas, good coffee and a minibar stocked to order. The website does not give room sizes.

## The table

The à la carte restaurant and the wine and cocktail bar are open from 8.30 am to midnight local time. Breakfast is served under the trees facing the sea; in the evening the restaurant sets up where the stream meets the sea, facing the sunset. The menu offers vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. The hotel also holds wine tastings, cocktail workshops and rakı dinners.
