The Residence Tunis is the Tunis coast hotel for thalassotherapy and golf: an Arab-Andalusian palace of 161 rooms and 9 suites at Les Côtes de Carthage, with an eighteen-room seawater treatment centre and an 18-hole course laid out between the sea and a salt lake. Thalassotherapy means treatments based on seawater. The hotel belongs to The Residence by Cenizaro brand, part of Cenizaro Hotels & Resorts.

## The hotel's calendar

This resort follows the seasons, and that is the first thing to know before booking.

| Facility | When |
|---|---|
| Beach | mid-May to mid-October |
| 1,500 m² outdoor pool | heated to 25 °C in April, October and November |
| Spa seawater indoor pool | heated to 30 °C all year |
| 18-hole golf course | no seasonal closure announced |
| Restaurants | seasonal opening hours for some of them |

In winter and spring, then, you come for the thalasso, the golf and visits to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said; from mid-May to mid-October, the beach is added. The sea is warmest from June to October, between 22.5 and 27 °C on average.

## The Spa & Thalasso

The treatment centre is the heart of the hotel. It has eighteen treatment rooms, an Oriental hammam, a sauna and a seawater indoor pool heated to 30 °C, and offers Clarins treatments. It is open from 9 am to 7 pm, the hammam from 11 am to 7 pm and the gym from 6 am to 7 pm, local time. For more addresses, see [spa and wellness](/en/themes/spa-and-wellness/) and our [golf and thalasso](/en/guides/golf-thalasso-tunisie/) guide.

## The golf course

The 18-hole course, designed by the American architect Robert Trent Jones II, runs between the sea and a salt lake. The hotel has a golf academy and a clubhouse. See also our [golf](/en/themes/golf/) page.

## 39 m² rooms, 91 m² suites

The entry rooms, Deluxe Garden View and Deluxe Sea View, measure 39 m², with a marble bathroom with bath and shower, a dressing room and an alcove with a bench seat and desk. On the garden side, ground-floor rooms have a private garden; for a couple, the sea view from the balcony is worth choosing. Several rooms connect, so a family of four can stay in two neighbouring rooms. The 91 m² suites, with a bedroom and a large living room, suit a couple who wants space; on the sea side, a honeymoon.

Rooms and suites sleep two adults and a baby or a child under 12.

## Six restaurants and bars

The hotel has six restaurants and bars: **L'Olivier**, **Li Bai**, **El Dar**, **Zembra**, **Zembretta** and **Le Salon**. It also has its own vegetable garden, the Earth Basket. Some restaurants keep seasonal hours, so for an off-season stay Sabaro checks with the hotel which ones are open on your dates.

## With children

The **Dolphin Club** welcomes children aged 3 to 12. Two tennis courts, a fitness centre and a hair salon complete the facilities. See also our [family](/en/themes/family/) page.

## Location

The hotel is on the seafront at Les Côtes de Carthage, in the municipality of La Marsa, Gammarth. Tunis-Carthage airport is about twenty kilometres away, around twenty minutes without traffic. The archaeological site of Carthage, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the village of Sidi Bou Said are close by. See our [Carthage and Sidi Bou Said](/en/tunisia/carthage-sidi-bou-said/) page.

## Prices

In October 2026, for two nights in March 2027, the cheapest room was offered at about €250 a night for two adults, breakfast included, with free cancellation, all taxes included. Tourist tax is extra and paid at the hotel: TND 12 per person per night, about €3.60, for up to ten nights, or TND 24 a night for a couple, about €7.

## Sabaro's view

**Who it suits**: golfers, thalasso lovers, couples and families with young children who want a large, peaceful hotel close to Tunis.

**Highlights**: the thalasso centre and its 30 °C seawater pool all year; the 18-hole course; the Dolphin Club; a rating of 4.6 out of 5 on Tripadvisor (1,903 reviews).

**Good to know**: the beach only opens from mid-May to mid-October; standard rooms (39 m²) are smaller than those at [Four Seasons Hotel Tunis](/en/hotels/four-seasons-tunis/), from 60 m², which costs more. Suites sleep at most two adults and a child, so a family of four takes two interconnecting rooms.
