## Dubai's contemporary grand hotel

The Lana is Sabaro's pick for a couple's city stay built around food and the spa. Opened in 2024, it belongs to Dorchester Collection, a collection of luxury hotels. The building was designed by the architects Foster + Partners, the interiors by the studio Gilles & Boissier.

The hotel is in Business Bay, the business district next to Downtown, on Marasi Drive, on the edge of Marasi Bay Marina. Burj Khalifa stands opposite, and Dubai Mall is about 2.5 km away, half an hour on foot or about ten minutes by taxi. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about 20 minutes away by car.

In Downtown, The Lana sits alongside two other hotels chosen by Sabaro: [Palace Downtown](/en/hotels/palace-downtown/), an Arabian palace on the lake and the more family-friendly option, and [Armani Hotel Dubai](/en/hotels/armani-hotel-dubai/), inside Burj Khalifa, closed until March 2027.

## Chef-led dining

This is the hotel's great strength: nine restaurants, bars and tasting venues, two of them run by well-known European chefs.

- **Jara by Martín Berasategui**: Basque cooking over fire, from the Spanish chef who holds twelve Michelin stars across his restaurants.
- **Riviera by Jean Imbert**: the restaurant of French chef Jean Imbert, also Michelin-starred.
- **High Society**, **The Gallery**, **Veranda**, **Bitter Honey** and **Txakolina** round out the line-up, along with **Bonbon Café Angelo Musa**, Angelo Musa's pastry café.

The stars mentioned belong to the chefs, earned in their other restaurants: the hotel does not claim a star for its own venues. Along the marina, The Lana Promenade has further restaurants run independently of the hotel.

## Rooms: every one with a balcony

Every room has a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Our tip: the **Marina Room**, which adds a sitting area, a dressing room and, above all, the view of Burj Khalifa and the marina that the Horizon Room lacks. The **Lana Suite** comes with butler service and return transfers from Dubai's airports.

## Rooftop pool and Dior spa

The infinity pool is on the roof, facing Burj Khalifa. It is open to hotel guests from 7 am to 6 pm and to outside visitors from 10 am to 5.30 pm, local time, so early morning is the quietest time.

Dior Spa The Lana, the spa of the Dior fashion house, has five treatment rooms, with a gym alongside. The hotel also has its own boat, The Lana Boat, for trips on the water.

## For a honeymoon

The Lana has what an urban honeymoon calls for: rooms with balconies facing the tower, the rooftop pool, an intimate spa and chef-led restaurants without needing a taxi. The hotel also hosts weddings. For a full honeymoon, Sabaro suggests pairing three nights here with a beach or desert stay; see the [Honeymoon](/en/themes/honeymoon/) theme and the [desert](/en/dubai/desert/) region.

## Sabaro's view

**Who it suits**: couples, honeymooners, food lovers, fans of contemporary architecture.

**Strengths**: the newest of the three Downtown hotels; the Burj Khalifa view; Jara and Riviera; the Dior Spa; a score of 9.0/10 on Booking.com (2,119 reviews); 4 stars from Forbes Travel Guide (an American guide that rates hotels after anonymous inspections).

**Good to know**: no beach; the pool is open to outside visitors in the afternoon; Business Bay is a district of towers, with less character than old Dubai. Checked in October 2026 for a March 2027 stay, the cheapest room was around €580 a night for two on a non-refundable rate, and around €665 with free cancellation, taxes and fees included according to the source, with a possible per-night tourism fee on top.
