Sultan Cave Suites owes its fame to its terraces. Clinging to the terraced hillside above Göreme, the hotel offers one of the most photographed views in Cappadocia at sunrise, when the balloons rise over the valleys. It belongs to the Yavuz family, who also run the neighbouring [Aza Cave Hotel](/en/hotels/aza-cave-hotel/) and Seten restaurant. The MICHELIN Guide lists it.

## Thirty-five rooms

The rooms, dug into the hillside or built of stone blocks, have arches and columns; their windows and balconies look out on the landscape. A Classic room is enough for a couple. Families should choose a Family Suite or a Fairy Chimney Suite; for a honeymoon, the Pasha suite or the Sultan suite, the largest, with its old-style copper bathtub.

## The terraces, and what they mean

The hotel's terraces, shared courtyards and viewpoints are at the heart of a stay. Their reputation has a flip side: at sunrise they are crowded, with guests and with those from neighbouring Aza, who have access. For a quiet photograph, go up early, or book a room with a balcony.

## Activities

The hotel offers a wide range of outings: quad bikes, jeep safaris, horse or camel rides, wine tasting, a whirling dervish ceremony, a Turkish night, a photo tour, a classic car and dresses to rent for photos on the terraces. **Seten**, run by the same family, serves refined Anatolian cuisine.

## Location

The hotel is in Göreme, Aydınlı Mahallesi, Aydınlı Sokak No. 40, on the terraced hillside above the village. Central Göreme and its restaurants are within walking distance; Nevşehir Airport (NAV) is about 40 minutes away. For the region, see our [Cappadocia](/en/turkey/cappadocia/) page.
