Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse is the hotel to pick for a beach holiday in town: a five-star property on the sand of the Corniche, five minutes by car from central Sousse and its medina, with a thalassotherapy centre and a kids' club. Opened in 2010, it belongs to the Swiss brand Mövenpick, part of the French hotel group Accor.

## Who it suits

It works best for families and couples who want the beach without giving up the town. With 618 rooms and suites it is a big, lively place, and the pools are busy in summer. Travellers after the intimacy of a guest house should look at [Dar Antonia](/en/hotels/dar-antonia-sousse/) in the medina, or along the coast at Port El Kantaoui, where the [Iberostar Selection Diar el Andalous](/en/hotels/iberostar-selection-diar-el-andalous/) has an adults-only area.

What it does well:

- direct access to a private sandy beach;
- the Marine Spa, which combines thalassotherapy and a spa;
- the town a short taxi ride away: medina, archaeological museum, restaurants;
- a kids' club with an activity programme.

## Rooms: it is all about the view

Entry-level rooms measure 34 m² and sleep up to three, with a king bed and a bathtub. What sets them apart is the outlook: Classic King rooms facing the town or the garden cost less, while Classic King Sea View rooms add a balcony over the Mediterranean. For a beach stay, the sea view is worth the extra.

Families of four book two connecting rooms, the hotel's set-up for parents with two children; their size is not published. Couples who want more room move up to the Junior Suite Sea View, almost twice the size at 65 m², with a balcony, a walk-in shower and a sea view on the pool side. At the top, the 150 m² Presidential Suite adds a living room and a dining room, for a special occasion or private entertaining.

## The Marine Spa and thalasso

The Marine Spa is the other reason to come. Thalassotherapy (treatments based on seawater, seaweed and marine mud) is paired with a spa: sauna, hammam, massage rooms, and heated indoor and outdoor pools. The heated pools let you swim outside summer, when the sea is still cool. Our guide to [golf and thalasso in Tunisia](/en/guides/golf-thalasso-tunisie/) covers the country's centres, and our [spa and wellness](/en/themes/spa-and-wellness/) page gathers the hotels that specialise in it.

## Beach and pools

The hotel opens straight onto the sandy beach, with a private section for guests. Pools are filled either with treated water or with seawater. Water sports are run by an outside operator, and there is a beach volleyball court and a fitness club.

On the Sahel coast the sea passes 26 °C in July and reaches about 27.5 °C in August; it drops to around 15 °C in February. In May, June and October the air is mild and the beach quieter than in high summer. See also our [beach](/en/themes/beach/) page.

## Four restaurants and six bars

The hotel has four restaurants, La Villa, Mosaique, Sendai and Tapeo, and six bars spread across the lobby, the pools and the beach. Central Sousse, 2 km away, adds its cafés and restaurants for an evening out.

## Location and distances

The hotel sits on the Corniche, the seafront promenade of Sousse:

- town centre: 2 km, about 5 minutes by car;
- Sousse Archaeological Museum: 4 km;
- Port El Kantaoui, with its marina and golf course: 6 km;
- El Jem amphitheatre: 90 km, to combine with [Mahdia and El Jem](/en/tunisia/mahdia-el-jem/);
- Monastir airport (MIR): 20 km, about 30 minutes;
- Enfidha-Hammamet airport (NBE): 45 km;
- Tunis-Carthage airport (TUN): 140 km.

There is no airport shuttle; a hotel car can be booked for a fee. Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out at noon, local time.

For the medina, the ribat and other sights, see our [Sousse](/en/tunisia/sousse/) page.

## Season

The hotel is open all year, with no announced closure. Most Europeans come between April and October. Winter suits a thalasso break and sightseeing, with daytime highs of 17 to 20 °C on the coast from December to March. Ramadan 2027 is expected from 8 February to 9 March: our [Ramadan and public holidays](/en/guides/ramadan-feries-tunisie-2027/) guide explains what changes for visitors.

## Price and tourist tax

In October 2026, for two nights from 9 March 2027, the cheapest room was offered at about €120 a night for two adults, breakfast and taxes included, on a non-refundable rate.

On top of that comes the tourist tax, paid at the hotel: 12 Tunisian dinars (TND) per person per night in four- and five-star hotels, about €3.60 at the Central Bank of Tunisia rate of 19 October 2026, for up to ten nights. Dinars can only be bought in Tunisia: see our [money in Tunisia](/en/guides/argent-tunisie/) guide.
