Kayakapı Premium Caves is not a hotel that was built, but a neighbourhood brought back to life. On the hill above Ürgüp, in one of the town's oldest settled areas, hundreds of cave houses and historic mansions have been restored. Among them stand a 10th-century cave church, an Ottoman-era mosque and the House of St John the Russian. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the MICHELIN Guide notes, the quarter was home to the mansions of the sultan's tax collectors.

## Rooms named after the houses

Each room keeps the name of the restored house it occupies: Emine Hanım Evi, Mehmet Balcı Evi, Toker Evi… The choice depends on how many of you are travelling.

For a couple, a Prime Room is enough; the Glorious Cave Suites sleep up to four. Some Majestic and Royal Cave Suites have a pool, as does one of the Cappadocian mansions, Palatial and Grandiose, which are let whole to families or groups of friends.

Bathrooms vary from house to house: natural-stone tub, jacuzzi, vintage tub, mosaic or shower.

## Revithia, Cappadocia's first star

**Revithia** takes its name from the Greek word for chickpea. It is the first restaurant in Cappadocia to hold a Michelin star. Its seasonal tasting menu reinterprets forgotten local dishes with Turkish, Greek and Armenian influences, paired with Cappadocian wines grown on volcanic soil. You dine in a historic cave or on the terrace facing Ürgüp. Maide, by the pool, serves simpler meals.

## The spa in the Davut Ağa mansion

The spa occupies the Davut Ağa konak, a historic mansion at the bottom of the quarter, next to the pool. It has a hammam and sauna, open 2 pm to 11 pm local time and free for guests; massages are charged. The gym, with the same hours, is for guests aged 16 and over.

## Location

The hotel is in the heart of Ürgüp, in the Kayakapı quarter, Kuşçular Sokak No. 43. The town's restaurants are within walking distance; Göreme is about ten minutes' drive, Nevşehir and Kayseri airports about 40 minutes and an hour away. For the region, see our [Cappadocia](/en/turkey/cappadocia/) page.

## Prices

In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, the hotel's own website offered its cheapest room at about €280 per night for two adults, breakfast not included and non-refundable, all taxes included. Other sites offered the Prime Room with breakfast at around €380 per night.

## Sabaro's view

**For whom**: food lovers, for Revithia; families and groups, for the entire mansions; travellers who like the idea of sleeping in a living quarter rather than a hotel.

**Strengths**: the restored quarter and its monuments; the starred restaurant; the spa in a konak; a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5 (962 reviews).

**Good to know**: the quarter is on a slope, with steps; the hotel does not publish its number of rooms. For a smaller hotel in the centre of Ürgüp, see [Sacred House](/en/hotels/sacred-house/).
