# Jumeirah Al Qasr

Jumeirah Al Qasr is a 294-room palace resort, every room with a balcony, at the heart of Madinat Jumeirah in Umm Suqeim. It opens onto a 2 km private beach, canals travelled by abra and the Madinat souk; it is the most Arabian in style of Dubai's beach resorts, for couples and families alike.

## A palace among the canals

Jumeirah Al Qasr is the Dubai resort where the setting matters as much as the beach. Opened in 2004, it was the second hotel in Madinat Jumeirah, a small Arabian-style resort town laced with palm-lined canals. Al Qasr means "the palace" in Arabic, and the hotel looks the part: traditional Arabian interiors, landscaped gardens and waterways.

You get around by abra, the traditional wooden boat, which links the restaurants, spa, pools and the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a covered market of shops and restaurants, along the canals. Burj Al Arab, the tower next door, is in view from almost everywhere; it is closed for restoration until around October 2027, with no visits or meals possible.

## Al Qasr, Jumeirah Beach Hotel or Marsa Al Arab?

On this stretch of the Umm Suqeim coast, Sabaro has chosen three Jumeirah hotels. They look alike on paper, much less so on the ground:

| | Jumeirah Al Qasr | [Jumeirah Beach Hotel](/en/hotels/jumeirah-beach-hotel/) | [Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab](/en/hotels/jumeirah-marsa-al-arab/) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opened | 2004 | 1997 | 2025 |
| Size | 294 rooms and suites | 599 rooms and suites, 19 villas | 300 rooms, 86 suites |
| Feel | Arabian palace, canals, abras | large family resort | new marina resort, fine dining |
| Best for | couples and families who love a setting | families with children | couples, honeymooners |
| Entry room | 43 m², balcony | 50 m² | 67 m², terrace |

Choose Al Qasr if you want the Madinat Jumeirah atmosphere, the souk and canals on your doorstep, and a long beach.

## Beach and pools

The hotel opens onto a 2 km private beach, the one serving Madinat Jumeirah. The pools are temperature-controlled, and one of them, an infinity pool, is for adults only. For swimming conditions and beach flags on the Dubai coast, see the guide to [Dubai's beaches](/en/guides/plages-dubai/).

## Which room to choose

All 294 rooms and suites have a furnished balcony and traditional Arabian décor. They sleep up to four, including up to two children aged 11 or under.

The two Deluxe rooms are the same size, and the view is what sets them apart: the Deluxe Arabian, over the gardens, works well for a family with one or two children; the Deluxe Ocean, over the Persian Gulf, is our pick for couples. The Ocean suites come with access to the Palace Lounge, the club lounge; the One-Bedroom Ocean Suite, with its separate living room, suits a family or a long stay.

## Restaurants: several on pause

The hotel lists around ten restaurants and bars: Pai Thai, Al Nafoorah, Atrangi by Ritu Dalmia, Pierchic (the restaurant built out over the Gulf), The Hide, Bar Buci, Arboretum, Al Fayrooz Lounge and Céleste by the beach pool. On 19 October 2026, several were shown as "opening soon" or "temporarily closed", Pierchic and Céleste among them. The souk and the other Madinat Jumeirah hotels offer more choice a few minutes away by abra. Sabaro checks which restaurants are open before you travel.

## Spa and children

Talise Spa is the hotel's spa, award-winning according to Jumeirah. For children there is a renovated kids' club; the hotel's room offers include entry to the neighbouring Wild Wadi waterpark, but the hotel's website says it is temporarily closed as a precautionary safety measure, in line with official guidance. Some offers also include access to the Dubai Parks and Resorts theme parks from three nights. For more family ideas, see the [Family](/en/themes/family/) theme.

## The calendar

Every spring, Madinat Jumeirah hosts [Art Dubai](/en/events/art-dubai/), the city's contemporary art fair, from 9 to 11 April 2027. Book early for those dates.
