Hilton Salalah Resort is the beach hotel in our selection closest to central Salalah: about ten minutes by car, and some 16 km, roughly twenty minutes, from the international airport. Opened in 1999 and renovated in 2008, it has 147 rooms and suites looking out over the Arabian Sea or the Dhofar mountains. It belongs to the American hotel group Hilton.

The hotel is in the Salalah region: some European foreign ministries advise against travel to the Salalah region, and they do not all give the same advice. Yours:

(Depends on the traveller's country: see the table on https://sabaro-travel.com/en/hotels/hilton-salalah-resort/)

The advice is set out in our guide [Oman and the regional situation](/en/guides/situation-oman/). This page describes the hotel.

## Closest to town

The other beach hotels in our selection are further from Salalah: the Hawana Salalah resort is about 35 km from the airport, Mirbat 90 km. The Hilton is therefore the choice for those who want the sea without leaving the city behind, or who are spending a night or two before moving on.

## A 1999 hotel

The Hilton was built in 1999 and renovated in 2008; some Superior rooms are described as renovated since, with no date given. It is a classic beach hotel, with a pool and a beach, without the pool villas or lagoons of the region's newer resorts.

## Rooms: choose your view

What separates the categories is the view and the balcony rather than the size. The King Guest Room, with its sofa bed, suits a couple or a small family; the Superior has only a partial sea view and a Juliet balcony. For a couple who want the sea, the King Deluxe Sea View Room, with a proper balcony, is worth the extra.

## Beach, pool and sport

The hotel has its own private beach on the Arabian Sea, a large free-form pool, a children's pool with a water slide, tennis courts, a gym and a sauna (see [beach](/en/themes/beach/) and [family](/en/themes/family/)).

## Dining

The hotel has two restaurants, **Al Maha** and **Palm Grove**, plus the **Mayfair Café** and **Whispers Bar**. Central Salalah, ten minutes away, widens the choice.

## Compared with other Salalah hotels

- About half the price, on the same dates, of [Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara](/en/hotels/al-baleed-anantara/), which has pool villas, a spa and a kids' club.
- Closer to town than the Hawana Salalah hotels, such as [Salalah Rotana Resort](/en/hotels/salalah-rotana-resort/), which includes aqua park access.

For the region's sights, see our [Salalah](/en/oman/salalah/) page.

## Prices and reviews

On 20 October 2026, for two nights in March 2027, the cheapest room was offered at about €190 a night for two adults, room only, non-refundable, taxes and fees included, possible local taxes extra.

Guests rate it 8.1 out of 10 on Booking.com (892 reviews) and 4.2 out of 5 on Tripadvisor (1,590 reviews).
