Hagia Sofia Mansions is not one building but a small neighbourhood: 17 historic mansions in Sultanahmet, brought together as a single hotel. It belongs to the Curio Collection, Hilton's brand for character hotels. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and Sultanahmet tram stop are all less than 500 m away.

## A hotel of mansions

Each mansion holds a few rooms or suites, and some can be booked whole for a family or a group of friends. The buildings are old: there are stairs in every mansion, worth knowing for travellers with reduced mobility. One wheelchair-accessible room with a roll-in shower is available.

The spa is the hotel's most surprising space: it combines a Turkish bath with a restored 1,500-year-old cistern. The hotel also has two restaurants and a fitness centre.

## The rooms

Every room has a Turkish bath, a bathing area in the style of a hammam, and a walk-in shower. For a couple, the King Guest Room is enough; a family of four gets a sitting area with sofa bed in the King Junior Suite or the Hagia Sofia Suite. For up to six, the Hurrem Sultan Mansion is a private three-storey house with a kitchenette; for a larger group, the hotel also lets whole mansions, for up to ten guests.

## With children

The hotel suits families well. Children up to 18 stay free in their parents' room on a room-only rate, and breakfast is free for under-12s. The suites sleep two adults and two children, and the whole mansions up to ten people. Pets are welcome for a non-refundable fee of €60. See also our [family](/en/themes/family/) page.

## Location

The hotel stands on Kabasakal Caddesi, in the heart of the [historic peninsula](/en/turkey/istanbul-historic-peninsula/). The great monuments are all within walking distance. Istanbul Airport (IST) is about an hour's drive away without traffic, Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) about 45 minutes.

## Rates

In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, the cheapest room was offered at €274 a night for two adults, €548 for the stay, room only, including taxes and fees.

## Sabaro's view

**Strengths**: the location, less than 500 m from the great monuments; a Turkish bath in every room; the spa beside the cistern; the children's policy; a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5.

**Good to know**: there are stairs everywhere, and a room may be in a mansion next to the main building. Google Hotels lists it as 4-star.
