## A modern tower among the villas

Four Seasons Nile Plaza opened in December 2004 at 1089 Corniche El Nil, in Garden City, among the district's Belle Époque and Art Deco mansions. The 30-storey tower was designed by WZMH Architects, a Canadian firm. It holds 270 rooms, 101 suites and 75 private residences.

Inside, the hotel combines Art Deco-inspired furniture with contemporary Egyptian art: more than 200 works are displayed throughout the hotel. The newest rooms and suites, the Premium and Pool Terrace categories, were designed by the French decorator Pierre-Yves Rochon.

From the upper floors, the view takes in the Nile, Saladin's Citadel and, in the distance, the Great Pyramid. The Michelin Guide awarded the hotel one Key (its hotel distinction) in October 2025.

## Ten places to dine

The hotel has around ten restaurants and lounges, enough to vary dinners over four nights without getting back in a car.

- **Zitouni**, with 120 covers, serves Egyptian food: the place for a first evening.
- **Byblos** is the Lebanese restaurant, with a small terrace.
- **8** serves Chinese food, with two private dining rooms.
- **Riviera** offers coastal Italian cooking.
- **Bullona**, with 120 covers, is the Mediterranean restaurant, with a Milanese touch.
- **Upper Deck Lounge** serves Levantine food, indoors or on its 38-seat terrace.
- **La Galerie** serves French food and **Beymen Café** an international menu.

The hotel was the exclusive caterer for the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025.

## The roof and the spa

The three pools are grouped on a secluded rooftop terrace with cabanas: a heated free-form pool, a lap pool and a whirlpool.

The spa, designed by Daniela Steiner Design in pastel tones, has 13 treatment rooms, an indoor pool, a eucalyptus sauna, a couples' suite and a women-only relaxation lounge facing the Nile. The house treatments include the Cleopatra Ritual. The gym, open around the clock, has floor-to-ceiling windows on the river.

## Sabaro's view

**For whom**: couples and families who want to stay central, for the Tahrir Square museum, historic Cairo and Old Cairo; travellers who value the service of a major brand.

**Strengths**: the view over the Nile and the Citadel; the rooftop pools; the choice of restaurants; a score of 8.9/10 on Booking.com based on more than 1,200 reviews.

**Good to know**: breakfast was not included in the rate we collected; the hotel hosts conferences and weddings, with a 977 m² ballroom; the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum are on the other bank, in Giza.

**Our advice**: for the view, ask for a high floor on the river side; keep a late afternoon for the roof, when the heat eases.
