Divan Çukurhan is Ankara's hotel of character. It occupies an Ottoman caravanserai, a han, at the foot of the citadel in Ulus, the old town. The World Monuments Fund had included it on its list of one hundred monuments around the world in need of saving; it was restored from October 2007 to May 2010, true to its original plan, and its courtyard was covered with a glass roof. It belongs to Divan, a Turkish hotel chain.

## Every room different

Each room is decorated in its own style with authentic, natural materials, blending modern comfort with historic texture. The rooms look onto the citadel, the city or the garden; the Deluxe Room, larger than the Superior, also comes with twin beds, handy for two friends. For a couple who wants a living room, the One Bedroom Royal Suite; for a family, the Junior Suite with its two queen-size beds, or the Two Bedroom Mandarine Suite, with two bedrooms and a living room.

Wifi is free in rooms and public areas, as is parking for guests.

## Safranhan and the lobby bar

**Safranhan** brasserie serves classics of Ottoman and international cuisine and Divan specialities. The lobby bar, beneath the glass roof of the courtyard, carries the evening on. Room service, transfers and a business centre complete the services.
