Aza Cave Hotel is the most ambitious project of the Yavuz family, who have run cave hotels in Göreme for more than thirty years. It all began with a family guesthouse: Ali Yavuz enlarged his home by joining historic cave houses to it, eventually creating the Kelebek, which the hotel presents as Göreme's first boutique hotel. Aza, which came later, was conceived from the start as a luxury hotel. It is for guests aged 12 and over.

## Thirty-seven rooms around a pool

The rooms are cut into volcanic tuff, with carved wooden headboards, working fireplaces and kilim-covered floors, as the MICHELIN Guide describes them. They are set around a west-facing pool, from which you see the balloons in the morning and the sunset in the evening. One of Göreme's tallest fairy chimneys rises in the garden.

The standard rooms suit a couple, and a family of four can ask for the single quadruple room. For a honeymoon, the hotel has three presidential suites.

## Seten and the Sultan terrace

For dinner, guests have access to **Seten**, right next door, the Yavuz family's Anatolian restaurant. They also have access to the terrace of [Sultan Cave Suites](/en/hotels/sultan-cave-suites/), another family hotel, one of the most photographed in Göreme when the balloons rise. The hotel offers a hammam, an organic breakfast, cooking classes and tours.

## Location

Aza is in Göreme, Aydınlı Mahallesi, Çakmaklı Sokak No. 14, on the hillside facing Pigeon Valley and Uçhisar Castle. The village and its restaurants are within walking distance; the open-air museum is a few minutes' drive, Nevşehir Airport (NAV) about 40 minutes.
