Avantgarde Refined Caves of Cappadocia belongs to the Avantgarde Collection, a Turkish hotel group that also has hotels in Istanbul and in Yalıkavak, near Bodrum. Its Cappadocian hotel, west of Ürgüp, blends contemporary classics, modern art and raw materials: rock, earth and a monochrome palette. The lighting in the rooms, the hotel says, is inspired by the undulating lines of the surrounding mountains. The MICHELIN Guide lists it.

## Forty-six rooms and suites

The hotel publishes eleven room types, from 16 to 65 m², and size is what sets them apart. The Comfort and Homelike Cave Rooms are the simplest, for a short stay on a tighter budget. Couples who want space should move up to the Hideaway rooms and the suites, all 40 m² or more. For character, the Mansion Suite is one of the five suites in the historic mansion; the Heritage Retreat and Whispering Valley Suites are the largest.

According to the MICHELIN Guide, the rooms have solar-powered underfloor heating, an espresso machine and Diptyque bath products.

## Rea Well-Being, a 600 m² spa

The **Rea Well-Being** spa covers 600 m² indoors and outdoors and can also be reached from outside the hotel. It has a hammam, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms, with a tea garden facing the valley. Its name comes from Rhea, mother of the Titans in Greek mythology.

## Ace restaurant

**Ace** serves modern Turkish cooking in a courtyard shaded by tall pines: wood-fired pide and local produce all year round. Above the hotel, the Avantgarde Valley plateau opens onto fairy chimneys and vineyards; according to the MICHELIN Guide, it is the best place to watch the balloons rise at sunrise.

## Location

The hotel is west of Ürgüp, at İstiklal Caddesi No. 89, on the edge of Göreme National Park. Göreme is about ten minutes' drive; Nevşehir Airport (NAV) about 40 minutes and Kayseri Airport (ASR) about an hour. For the region, see our [Cappadocia](/en/turkey/cappadocia/) page.

## Prices

In October 2026, for two nights from 1 to 3 June 2027, the hotel's own website offered its cheapest room at about €320 per night for two adults, breakfast included, non-refundable, all taxes included.
